New role at Arlington Court

Excited to say that I started a new role as a volunteer at Arlington Court National Trust today.

That of
Volunteer Artist

something I have wanted to do and thought about for years, even whilst volunteering for the Trust over the last 5 years or so.  There are so many lovely scenes over there that finally I decided to go for it and much to the delight of the staff at Arlington, I have now actually started painting the wonderful views there.

I'm going to Donate all the paintings I do to
Arlington for them to Sell, produce Prints etc.
My way of fund raising for them.

I absolutely loved my first session en plein air painting in front of the main house.

Gorgeous weather was a great bonus, if a little hot at one point,
but who am I to say, I had waited for good weather and it was on my side.

I'll do another blog post when I have completed the
painting in my studio.

Looking forward to the rest of the season.

  5. What a wonderful idea, to be a volunteer artist. I'm sure you will be a huge success. If you are painting outside, be prepared for lots of people hanging over your shoulder watching your every move and asking all sorts of silly questions!

    1. Thanks Shammickite. Yes, I'm thinking too that people will stop to look at the art, but I don't mind that, will give paint time to dry whilst I talk to them, lol.
